Twin Peak Challenge – Climb for Water

2009 November 21

Twin Peak Challenge

‘Time and the passing’ – Twin Peaks  2010  was a great success, and for those who followed the updates i hope you enjoyed the stories and events that unfolded over the 2 week ‘Meru – Kili combo epic. I certainly had fun capturing the moments letting my mind and fingers tap out a lighthearted account of the days as they unfolded.  As to the next steps and plans, we at B2B Bush2Beach Safaris in combination with the African Roots Foundation are laying down, please watch this space as news is immanent to the recent survey that was undertaken as of the 31/03/10 in the rolling hills of Eselalei. We sincerely hope that our findings and the “Twin Peak Challenge – Climb for Water 2010 along with funds and donations that are being pooled together will be making a difference throughout 2010  to the Maasai community that to date have been so dependent on the seasonal rains.

2009 was a terrible year with long dry periods and droughts proliferate throughout East Africa – fortunately with the injection of the water storage tanks the community did have access for the first time ever to fresh drinking water, a big thank you to TANAPA ( Tanzania National Parks ) who assisted B2B with the refilling of these tanks to bridge the gap until the first drops of heavenly rain began to fall.

The Twin Peaks Challenge – Climb for water will be an annual event so we encourage the readers who missed out on the pilot climb to seriously make plans to kick 2011 off with a difference.  You may have had friends or seen the celebrities on TV tackle Kilimanjaro and thought i must do that one day!! Don’t just think about it, we at Bush 2 Beach put out a welcome hand and invite you to join us next February for this African adventure which will be a personal  journey and lifetime achievement along with having a ‘ripple effect’ by bringing clean fresh water into the lives of the Maasai community of Eselalei.

On behalf of the Maasai community of Eselalei, we welcome you to our homelands!
